School and Heritage

Doon Nursery &Primary School was founded by Mr.Radha Krishna in 1994, in the north of Chennai, India. Since its inception, the school is intended to serve and educate children’s from the underprivileged community. Started from a humble two bedrooms house, the school hosts nearly 200 children, employs around 12 teachers and 5 non-teaching staffs.

This project aims at educating the underprivileged from the semi-urban and urban slums. Many rural villagers migrated to the cities in search of better-paying job, bringing their children, whose future is mostly about working to increase their family income. These children are part of the most vulnerable population in big cities, they are exposed to every horror that most of us can ever imagine to witness. At Doon, we hope to change the way these kids lead their lives. Our mission is to provide them opportunities so they can have a better outlook on life they have witnessed.
